Boatsafe NSW delivers Boat and PWC Licence Courses in partnership with the Interaction Consulting Group (Est. 1994), an established Registered Training Organisation (No.6170). All courses are approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Boatsafe Canberra/ NSW ABN 85089277230, is an authorised Nominated Representative of the Interaction Consulting Group, ABN 82064623543 and RTO 6170 and is approved by NSW Maritime to provide practical boat training and/or knowledge testing for the NSW general boat driving licence and PWC driving licence.
At Boatsafe NSW we are passionate about water safety. Our company’s Principal Phil Hopkins, has a Bachelor of Education and has been a college teacher and a university lecturer for most of his career. He has over 30 years of experience in water safety, is an award-winning experienced surf life saver and has held a recreational boat licence for over 20 years.
So when you choose Boatsafe NSW, you benefit from contemporary, evidence-informed teaching methods for optimal learning and student engagement. We pride ourselves on our high pass rates. Our courses are continually revised and updated, so students have a clear understanding of current boating safety standards.
Our Trainers all have a National Police Check, are Senior First Aid certified and have Working With Children and Vulnerable People cards.
Over the years we have helped hundreds of skippers both young and old, get their Boat and Jet Ski licences.
Course Inclusions
Our courses are based on the national syllabus of boating education, designed to prevent boating incidents and save lives. Course inclusions consist of the following five units:
- MEM50008 – Carry out trip preparation and planning
- MEM50009 – Safely operate a mechanically powered recreational boat
- MEM50010 – Respond to boating emergencies and incidents
- SISOPWC201A – Select and maintain a personal water craft (if doing PWC)
- SISOPWC202A – Demonstrate simple personal water craft skills in controlled conditions (if doing PWC)
